Since my previous album "The Mermaid of Oakmoor Lake" and early 2020, I have been getting better at writing songs and leaning heavily towards vocals and singing.
I would like to think this album shows the variety in how I like to write; from shorter catchier songs like the more rnb/soul inspired Bring Back The Summer and the hard-rockish Poison In The Sky, to my longer prog-rock inspired songs such as Blind Marriage and Princess On The Danube. 6 of the 12 songs are instrumentals.
With a lot of these songs, I am leaning towards conceptual songs with stories behind them, and sometimes personal lyrics mixed in with fantasy.
I feel like this is the beginning of me writing better songs, and growing as an all-rounded musician who's playing bass, guitar, singing, the programmed drums/keys, writing lyrics and drawing the album/song art.
